Supplies4Success has been a wonderful addition to our community. The organization helps needy students in our school district obtain the supplies they must have to get through the school year. Another fantastic feature of the program is giving students their necessary winter gear. Students who use the program feel comfortable in their schools because they have all that they need to fully participate in class and enjoy the cold weather with their friends.

As a school social worker in the district, I have a clear picture of the value of the Supplies for Success Program. Over the past 12 years, the percentage of students who qualify for free/reduced lunch at Hadley has soared to more than 23% The families of these students work hard to provide the basics for their children on a daily basis. They are so grateful when they receive school supplies, knowing that this is one very important thing that they won’t have to scrape together to provide. Students are also thankful to have the same supplies as their peers. The Supplies for Success program has been a great tool to assist families and support students throughout Glen Ellyn.

Thanks to Supplies 4 Success, all my students can start the school year off on the right foot. When students enter a new school year with no supplies, they are overcome with relief and joy when presented with brand new school supplies they can place in their desk along with their peers. I have also seen the joy provided to students when given snow gear because of Supplies 4 Success. I’ll never forget the year one of my students told me that the snow pants he received was the first pair he had ever owned, and that now he would be able to play in the snow like everyone else. Thank you for making a difference in our community!

Supplies 4 Success (S4S) is very aptly named. Thanks to this program, Hadley students who are attending middle school in the US for the first time begin the school year with everything they need to succeed. Instead of worrying about whether or not they have the right “stuff”, they can concentrate on learning, completing their work, and making new friends. It’s also a great way to show students we’re glad they’re here and we want them to succeed!

I know as a parent and a teacher that back-to-school supply shopping is EXPENSIVE. Not everyone has the means to afford the new pencils, backpacks, and notebooks. Supplies for Success has been a blessing to my students who need it. These children arrive on the first day of school with new supplies, excited about their shiny new supplies. Also, these students don’t have to worry that they won’t fit in with the rest of the class. I don’t have to worry about tracking down supplies for kids, they have them from Day 1. Thank you to Supplies for Success for helping all our students get a successful start on the school year!
